The event formally began the University's 80th anniversary celebration and was attended by nearly 200 alumni, faculty, corporate partners and Board of Trustees members.

°µÍø½ûÇø will host numerous on-campus events throughout February to celebrate Black excellence and provide resources to current students.

Salgado serves as the faculty advisor for student organizations such as the LGTQIA+ group RU Proud and the Association of Latin American Students (ALAS).

Nominations for prospective candidates to serve on °µÍø½ûÇø’s Board of Trustees are being accepted now through the end of January.

During the luncheon's Q&A, Ayala-Bermejo discussed the legal challenges facing immigrants at the U.S.-Mexico border and how the Instituto works to support them.

Beginning in the Fall 2025 semester, all accepted students from Illinois with an annual household income below $50,000 can attend °µÍø½ûÇø tuition-free.
